Allen has managed motel, hotel and subsidiary entities, investment residential, and community association properties since 1975.
He joined CFM at its inception, in July 1988, having worked with the all the principals of the new company previously, as well as several leading community management companies in the interim period. Allen has been an instrumental influence on overcoming the challenges that his communities have faced over the years. He has managed both new luxury communities, and older conversion communities, and has a reputation as being a true leader in the industry, with a knack for simplifying complex projects.
He continues to manage several key clients, in addition to his other duties.
He has managed The Astoria Condominium in Arlington since December 1, 1990, through a variety of complex projects and substantial changes in their Board of Directors. Their recent garage restoration project was completed in July 2005 on time and almost 50% under the $225,000 budget. The Astoria recently signed a renewal contract effective July 1, 2006. The renewal contract authorizes CFM to address all decisions regarding the disposition of the personel at the property, within reasonable guidelines.
Allen has managed Arlington Oaks, A Condominum since 1994. He was instrumental in the 1995 conversion of Arlington Oaks from cooperative to condominium, the second such conversion in the Commonwealth of Virginia, as well as the 2002 construction of the $600,000 Arlington Oaks Community Center. Arlington Oaks signed a new three year contract with CFM in July 2005.
In May 2002, Allen assumed management of the Grosvenor Park Homeowners Association in Rockville, MD. He recognized the results of an August, 2004 reserve study as a severe overfunding of reserves, and the Board subsequently agreed to a $180,000 refund to the constituent communities. In addition, he dealt with a variety of deferred maintenance items, including restoration of 4 tennis courts, a wooden bridge rehabilitation, and a review of all contracts.
